In 1984, Late Shri. Mani Ram Rathee, a Government teacher at a primary school in Haryana, came from his village Behlamba, Meham to Rohtak. He had a dream of starting his own business, but was uncertain about the start. As Shri. Mani Ram was thinking about a few business startups, one Monday, he went to his carpenter friend, Shri. Om Prakash to take the suggestion of which domain he should start the business. Being a big devotee of Shree Mehandipur Balaji, Om Prakash suggested him to visit the sacred place and attend the grand Bhandara over there on Tuesday. There they decided to start with a Juice along with Sweets shop.
In 1991, he took a loan of Rs.60k from Pradhanmantri Rojgar Yojna and started a small Juice and Sweets shop along with his elder son Shri. Ramesh Chandra Rathee who completed a Civil Engineering from Polytechnic BITS Pilani. From 1984 to 1990, Ramesh had worked in two reputed companies including Ajit Gas Service and a tyre agency. He left his job to help his father.
Being a devotee of Balaji, they named it, Shree Balaji Juice and Sweets Bhandar. Though, this was mainly a juice shop but was getting recognition for its lip smacking Jalebi and mouthwatering Samosas. So, Shri. Mani Ram decided to focus on its Sweets and Snacks. In 1995, his Sweet Shop became the most preferred name for Ghevar in Haryana and all over India.
This small shop was set on a 129 square yard in 1991. In 1998, Shri. Mani Ram's younger son, Shri. Virendra Rathee, a graduate from a recognized University, started working part time in the shop to help his father and elder brother. Shri Virendra completed his MCA in 2000 and an MBA in 2004, but instead of accepting the offers from MNCs, he preferred working for his home business. In 2005, with one more shop on a 130 square yards , Shri Mani Ram Rathee & Sons expanded their business by offering fast food in their shop on a small scale which also turned out to be a good decision. In the year 2014, Shree Balaji Misthan Bhandar further expanded in 120 square yards with two workshops and one showroom including the Fast Food Business in full flash, especially for Indian and Chinese food. In June 2017, a bakery is also started as a part of Shree Balaji Misthan Bhandhar.
